Final farewell to Wing Cdr Leonard Ratcliff, DSO, DFC and bar, AFC, Légion d’Honneur, Croix de Guerr

More than four hundred family members, friends and local residents gathered In Saffron Walden on July 4th to pay tribute to Len Ratcliff who died on April 1st, 2016, aged 96; and as the attendees gathered outside the church immediately prior to the Service of Remembrance, a Hercules of the RAF's present day 'special duties' squadron, No 47, happened to fly overhead.

The spoken tributes during the service included moving words from Len's wife Dorothy, his son Rupert and the intelligence historian Mark Seaman. (Click HERE for the Times obituary)
